Artistic Statement & Portfolio Credits: Sound Art & Digital Installations

Introduction: Artistic Approach to Spatial Sound & New Media

My practice as a sound artist and designer operates at the intersection of acoustic geography, ancestral futurism, and interactive technology. Moving beyond the constraints of linear music production, I treat sound as a malleable, architectural medium capable of defining, disrupting, and reconfiguring physical and virtual spaces.

Central to my approach is the concept of sonic world-building—using texturized audio, data-driven synthesis, and reactive field recordings to challenge Eurocentric historical narratives and institutional space. Whether engineering soundscapes for responsive digital environments, collaborating on data-generated museum installations, or scoring physical art galleries, my work focuses on the psychological and spatial impact of sound. By anchoring abstract electronic frequencies in deep cultural research, I aim to transform the listener from a passive audience member into an active participant within an immersive, multi-sensory ecosystem.

Selected Installation & Exhibition Credits

Inner Code Alchemy (2025–2026)

Project Type: Experimental Sci-Fi Video Game, Interactive AV Installation, and Short Film

Role: Lead Sound Designer

Collaborators: Marta Minguell (Direction/Production), Sergi Graña (3D/VFX), Carlos Serrano (Interactive Programming), Brandon Saunders (3D Modeling)

Residency & Venue: IASlab La Salle & MIRA Festival (Barcelona, Spain)

Project Description: An interactive multimedia project paying homage to the Kush-Kemet (Ancient Egyptian) civilizations, inspired structurally by the Kemet African Royal Calendar. The project maps an immersive journey through 12 symbolic virtual spaces, utilizing dynamic, real-time triggered sound design to merge ancient African cosmological research with a futuristic, speculative sci-fi aesthetic.

Random Access — Tate Modern (2019)

Project Type: Interactive, Data-Generated Audio-Visual Installation

Role: Sound Artist & Co-Creator

Collaborators: James Beej (Digital Artist), Sabina Covarrubias (Digital Artist), Global Roots / Worldwide FM, The Museum of Contemporary Digital Arts (MOCDA)

Venue: Tate Modern, Blavatnik Building, Level 6 (London, UK)

Project Description: A contemporary digital art response to avant-garde pioneer Nam June Paik’s historic 1963 work Random Access. This non-linear installation utilized data-driven audio synthesis, algorithmically fusing raw electronic textures and soundscapes with live digital visuals to transform the physical architecture of the museum space.

Collaborative Audio-Visual Installation — Germany

Project Type: Fine Art Gallery Installation

Role: Lead Sound Designer / Audio Architect

Collaborators: Herzia Durghoz (Lead Artist)

Location: Exhibition Space (Germany)

Project Description: A cross-disciplinary, multi-sensory collaboration translating the visual and conceptual narratives of visual artist Herzia Durghoz into a responsive acoustic environment. The work prioritized spatialized audio textures and experimental frequencies over traditional rhythm, manipulating the physical psychology of the room to influence how viewers navigated and interacted with the physical artwork.
